Its main functions are the presence and promotion of dance art and performance on a local and international level as well as its inclusion within the Cyprus reality through an open and accessible structure to all.

Specifically stegi serves artistic development and choreographic growth through residency programmes, participation in European programmes, workshops, laboratories and research programmes. Stegi also hosts every year the annual Open House Festival with local and international choreographic works.

It is a space of creativity and exchange, research and practice, artistic development and innovation. It is a meeting point for local and international dancemakers The collaboration between Dance House Lemesos and its neighbour, the Rialto Theatre, has been an important development in the continued support for dance in Cyprus.

Dance House Lemesos is situated  next to the Rialto theatre on one side and the Technological University on the other. Both institutions collaborate with Stegi. USE OF SPACE

Any dance artist or performer can apply to present their work at Stegi or to show a work in progress at an informal presentation. See below ways of using the space by the artists and terms for renting it by anyone in general.

ARE YOU A DANCE ARTIST / DANCER / CHOREOGRAPHER HERE IS HOW TO USE THE DANCE HOUSE: REHEARSE

We want artists to have access to the space for their creative process.

There is a small charge of 3euro an hour if you are using the studio less than 20 hours. If you need more hours then we can make a package deal. if you have no funding whatsoever we can talk about finding other ways of payment like different exchange services (see volunteer work). If the studio is booked we can link you with other studios we collaborate with in Limassol.

PERFORM

Our policy is that you can use the indoor and outdoor space for performing your work.

The dance house offers the space, sound system, chairs and pillows for audience sitting, an email advertising your event to our very long list of audience members and professionals.

Any other equipment rental has to be done separately.

On your behalf you need to have your own insurance and keep the place in the condition you found it.

Price: Rental 100 euro a day  (8 hours)

TEACH A WORKSHOP

Send the board a description of what you are going to teach and a give a reference of where you have taught this before or how it was developed. The D.H.Lemesos board will answer you shortly. If the answer is positive you need to book the space and time with our management team.

The dance house offers the space, the sound system, an email advertising your workshop to our very long list of audience members and professionals.

As payment to the dance house we can offer either a percentage of the workshop income or a set fee depending on the amount of participants and the duration of the workshop.

On your behalf you need to have your own insurance and keep the space in the state you found it.

RESEARCH

Use our veranda or office space (one artist at a time) with books, magazines, available computer and free wi-fi. Feel free to make coffee in our kitchen!

NEWSLETTER

Send us your information (up to 100 words) on an event (performance, workshop, other news related to your work) and a picture if you have, with an online link, by the 15th of each month. The information should be sent in English and Greek at info@dancehouselemesos.com with the title NEWSLETTER.

VERANDA RENTAL (FOR INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS)

You can rent our veranda for a whole day or evening party.
Cost is  200 euro plus 50 euro  for the house technician/manager

STUDIO RENTAL (FOR INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS)

You can rent out our indoor studio for a conference or a lecture.
